6.3.1.7. Fuel system

Prevention

You watch precautionary measures in subsection 6.3.1 before work.

The following operation will release pressure from fuel system – do not forget that in system there will be a fuel therefore, observe necessary precautionary measures at a detachment of elements of system. Use pure rags which need to be wrapped up around connections, for collecting fuel. Utilize the rags which absorbed fuel with care. Stop up or close open fuel tubes for prevention of leak of fuel or hit in system of dirt.

The fuel system consists of the fuel pump installed in the fuel tank, the fuel filter, an injector and the regulator of pressure, and also, the metal tubes and flexible hoses connecting these elements. All these elements contain fuel which is under pressure when the engine works and / or when ignition is switched off. Pressure remains in system after coupling switching off for some time, and he needs to be let out before removal of elements of system.

Release of pressure

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a safety lock of the fuel pump from the block of safety locks of the car – safety locks have no numbers, but their accessory can be determined by the table on a cover of the block of safety locks and by means of the schemes of electric equipment provided in subsection 14.20.

2. Start the engine and wait until he decays.
3. Try to start the engine still few times in order that all residual pressure was released from system.
4. Disconnect a wire of the negative plug of the accumulator.
5. For safety, the safety lock of the fuel pump should not be established into place, all work on fuel system is not finished yet. If you establish a safety lock now, do not include ignition until the end of work.
