11.6. DrumsRemoval
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. Lift a back part of the car and establish on supports. |
2. Remove a wheel. |
3. Release the emergency brake. |
4. If the drum does not give in to removal, then reduce blocks, having arrived as follows. |

5. Get a cap from an opening in a brake board. |
|
6. Insert the screw-driver into this opening, then pass the screw-driver through an opening in a block against the stop in the lever of the emergency brake. Slightly strike the screw-driver to release the regulator mechanism then reduce blocks. |
7. If the removed reel is installed, then put adjusting tags. |
8. Remove a drum from wheel hairpins. |

9. If the drum nevertheless does not give in to removal, then displace it, evenly wrapping M8 bolts in special carving openings. |

Prevention
Drums change only in couple and with a set of blocks.
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. Carefully clear a drum of dust and dirt. |
2. Check existence on a drum of cracks and wear tracks (with special attention check spaces about openings for hairpins). |
3. Check a condition of an internal surface, in the presence of traces of deep development the drum is subject to replacement. |
4. If on the internal surface of the reel the fillet caused by wear was formed, the drum is subject to replacement. The fillet formed owing to corrosion or deposits of dirt has to be removed a small skin. |
5. Check ovality of a drum, having measured diameter in two mutually perpendicular directions. Ovality improves a pro-point if after processing diameter of a drum does not become less limit. |

Installation
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. From a new drum remove preservative. |
2. Reduce strut length, having sprained a gear nut to install the reel. |
3. Install the reel, having combined the put tags (if the removed reel is installed). |
4. Press several times a brake pedal. |
5. Adjust the emergency brake. |
6. Establish a wheel, lower the car. |
7. Before departure check work of brakes. |
