6.3.1.12. System of injection of fuel / ignition


The code of malfunction is designated by a series long (0,6 seconds) and short (0,3 seconds) flashes of an alarm bulb on an instrument guard and a red light-emitting diode on the right side of an electronic control unit. Long flashes which designate the first figure of a code of malfunction are given the first, then, approximately in 0,9 seconds, there are short flashes which designate the second figure of a code. Between the given codes of malfunctions intervals approximately in 2,1 seconds become. After all codes will be given, the electronic control unit begins to give codes of malfunctions at first, with a break in 2,1 seconds.

General diagnostics

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. If in system of injection of fuel / ignition malfunction appears, in the beginning check that all sockets of connection of system were reliably connected and were not covered with corrosion.
2. Then check whether bad maintenance of the engine is a cause of defect; i.e., check that the filtering element of the air filter was not littered that spark plugs were in good shape and had the correct spark gap that gaps of valves of the engine were correctly adjusted and pressure of compression in cylinders corresponded to the required value.
3. Also check that the corner of an advancing of ignition was established correctly and that systems of decrease in toxicity of exhausts correctly worked. You watch subsection 7.7.1 and subsection 6.4 for obtaining more detailed information.
4. If these checks do not help to find a malfunction source, it is possible to carry out a bystry inspection of chains of system of injection of fuel / ignition, having established an engine electronic control unit in the mode of self-diagnostics "2".
5. In the mode "2" the electronic control unit will show the malfunction code which is written down in his memory, having included an alarm bulb on an instrument guard or a red light-emitting diode on the right side of the control unit.
6. Records about the malfunctions found by an electronic control unit are stored in his memory until the starter is included 50 times.
7. If malfunction is not found again during this period, record about it will be erased from memory.
8. Records about malfunctions can be erased from memory of an electronic control unit, having included it in the mode of self-diagnostics "2", and then, having switched back to the mode "1" or having switched-off the accumulator more than for 24 hours.

Installation of the modes of self-diagnostics

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Uncover the block of safety locks for receiving access to diagnostics socket which fastens from below the block of safety locks.
2. Turn a key in the ignition lock in the provision of "ON", but do not start the engine. The engine electronic control unit is in the mode of self-diagnostics "1" now.
3. By means of a piece of a wire connect the IGN plug of the socket of diagnostics and the CHK plug.
4. Keep plugs connected longer than 2 seconds, then, disconnect a wire. The engine electronic control unit is in the mode of self-diagnostics "2" now.
5. In the mode "2" the electronic control unit will show the malfunction code which is written down in his memory.

Prevention

If codes 11 and 21 are shown at the same time, check a chain of the sensor of an angle of rotation of a bent shaft before check of other system of ignition.


6. On models with the catalytic converter if the electronic control unit is included in the mode "2", at start of the engine the electronic control unit automatically passes into the mode of check of the sensor of exhaust gases. In this mode, an alarm bulb on an instrument guard and a red light-emitting diode show a condition of exhaust gases. When the alarm bulb and a light-emitting diode burn, so in exhaust gases low contents WITH and when they are switched off, it means that exhaust gases are saturated WITH.
7. For check of the sensor, transfer an electronic control unit to the mode of self-diagnostics "2", start the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature.
8. After the engine is heated-up, lift the speed of operation of the engine approximately to 2000 rpm and keep such speed about 2 minutes, watching an alarm bulb on an instrument guard or a light-emitting diode on an electronic control unit.
9. If the sensor of exhaust gases works correctly, an alarm bulb / light-emitting diode at least 5 times have to blink each 10 seconds.
10. After completion of all checks, leave "2" the mode of self-diagnostics.
11. If you did not start the engine, it is possible to leave "2" the mode of self-diagnostics, having again connected diagnostics socket IGN and SNK plugs further, than for 2 seconds.
12. If the engine works, leave the mode of self-diagnostics "2", having turned a key in the ignition lock in the provision of "OFF" and having disconnected a wire of the negative plug of the accumulator.
13. If it is necessary to carry out more detailed inspection of system of injection of fuel / ignition, address experts. The repair auto repair shop has to have electronic diagnostic the device which is connected to the socket of diagnostics and allows to carry out a full inspection of all elements of system.

Adjustment

On models without catalytic converter it is possible to regulate the speed of operation of the engine in the mode of idling and composition of fuel mix (the SO level in exhaust gases). On models with the catalytic converter it is possible to regulate only the speed of operation of the engine in the idling mode.
