3.2.1.10. Levers of the drive of valves and hydraulic regulators

Removal of air from the hydroregulator

1. Ball valve

2. Bar

3. Plunger
Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove cam-shafts (see subsection 3.2.1.9).
2. Prepare 16 pure plastic bags and number them from 1 to 16. It is also possible to manage a box with 16 offices.
3. Remove the first lever of the drive of valves, take from an opening in a head of cylinders the hydroregulator and put in a bag together with the lever, observing the working provision of these details.
Prevention

The hydroregulator has to be stored only in working situation. At storage in horizontal or in the turned situation in the regulator air which before assembly needs to be removed will get following the recommendations stated in subitems 9 and 10 (see below).

4. Remove remote laying and the directing disks from end faces of valves, put these details in a bag of together hydroregulator.
5. Repeat actions according to item 3 and get levers of the drive of valves, hydroregulators, remote laying and the directing disks of other valves. Do not mix levers and hydroregulators, otherwise these details will be subject to the increased wear.

Check of a state

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check the surface of contact of the lever with a cam of a rapredval, existence on this surface of wear tracks and damages. If levers are worn-out, then on cams of a cam-shaft the increased wear will be observed too (see subsection 3.2.1.9). If necessary replace levers.
2. Check existence of signs of the increased wear on hydroregulators and in the interfaced openings in a head of cylinders. If there is a necessary measuring tool, then degree of wear can be established by means of direct measurements. For this purpose measure the internal diameter of an opening under the hydroregulator in a head of cylinders and the outer diameter of the hydroregulator. The gap is equal in the hydroregulator to a difference of these diameters. Compare the received gap size with standard, specified in the section (see subsection 3.2.1.1). If necessary replace worn-out details.
3. Check existence of signs of wear on the directing disks of levers, if necessary replace.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before assembly it is necessary to check thickness of each remote laying to define suitability for further use. This operation is especially necessary in case new valves and saddles of valves are installed or if valves were exposed to regrinding. The procedure for test of thickness of laying is described in subitem 2-5. If the head of cylinders was not exposed to repair and measurement of thickness of laying is inexpedient, then continue assembly, being guided see item 8 and further.
2. Establish the directing drive lever disk on an end face of that valve from which this disk was removed (it very important, see item 13). Fix the arrow indicator on a head of cylinders, bring the mobile probe of a leg of the indicator into contact with the persistent surface of the directing disk which is in contact with the valve drive lever. Establish an indicator scale on zero.
3. Then carefully lift the probe of a leg of the indicator and turn the indicator strictly parallel to initial situation. Bring the indicator probe into contact with an end face of other valve which the drive lever, i.e. the second valve from the same cylinder will affect.

Prevention

At turn the indicator has to move strictly parallel to initial situation, otherwise indications will be wrong.

4. Consider the indication of the indicator which will be equal to distance between an end face of a core of the valve and a persistent surface of the directing disk which the valve drive lever influences, write down this indication. To be convinced of strictly parallel movement of an indicator head in the course of measurement, turn a head back in initial situation in which the probe of the indicator adjoins to a persistent surface of the directing disk. The indication of the indicator at return to initial situation has to be equal to zero. Repeat the measurements described above for each pair of inlet and final valves of all cylinders. Write down results of measurements.
5. On the basis of the taken measurements determine the suitable thickness of remote laying for each pair of valves. Thickness of laying has to be equal in accuracy to result of measurement, however the manufacturer established the admission within ±0,025 mm.
Prevention

In the spare part laying with thickness from 2,800 to 3,200 mm with a step to 0,025 mm is delivered.

6. Value of thickness is caused on the lower surface of laying (for example, 2875 means thickness in 2,875 mm), nevertheless, very expediently to measure the valid thickness of the replaced laying by a micrometer as reduction of thickness owing to wear is possible.
7. Install remote laying on the corresponding valve, having tracked that the surface with marking was turned down.
8. If thickness of laying was not measured, then install the directing disks and adjusting remote laying (are specified by shooters) on the corresponding valves, having tracked that the surface of laying with marking was turned down.
9. Before installation of hydroregulators be convinced that in them there is no air. For this purpose press a regulator plunger (the regulator at the same time has to be in vertical position, the plunger is turned up), movement of a plunger should not be felt. If the plunger moves to more than 1,0 mm, then in the hydroregulator there is an air. If hit of air in the regulator is revealed or if the new regulator is installed, then air should be removed, having arrived as follows.
Prevention

On the working engine air from hydroregulators spontaneously is not removed. If regulators are installed without removal of the air which got inside, then their normal work is broken and the increased noise will be listened.

10. Prepare a small vessel which sizes exceed the hydroregulator sizes a little, and a bar (for example a piece of a welding electrode) which passes in an opening in a regulator plunger. Fill a vessel with pure oil for the engine which brand corresponds filled in in the engine, ship the hydroregulator in a vessel with oil, observing vertical working position (the plunger is turned up). Enter a bar into an opening in a plunger and slightly press on the ball valve of the regulator (see rice. Removal of air from the hydroregulator). Holding a bar in such situation, slowly move a plunger up and down. At the same time air will begin to come out space under the ball valve. After the termination of an exit of bubbles from the top part of the hydroregulator release a plunger and get a bar then the ball valve will be closed.
Prevention

At an otpuskaniye of a plunger hold the ball valve abroach.

11. Get the hydroregulator from a vessel and check the plunger course (see item 9).
12. After removal of air from hydroregulators install them in a head of cylinders on former places.
13. Install levers of the drive of valves on former places, having paid attention to correctness of gearing of levers with hydroregulators and the directing disks.
Prevention

The terminations of levers which enter gearing with remote laying and the directing plug differ on width. The termination of the lever from remote laying is slightly broader than from the putting in order plug. If the lever does not correspond to this valve, then the termination of the lever will not come into a cut at an end face of the directing plug.

14. Establish cam-shafts (see subsection 3.2.1.9).
